Ras Tafari Youth Wins Washington DC NFTE Competition

Number 1 in NFTE competition
Mama Thea, IDOR, Ras Wayne

In keeping with my commitment to showcase the achievements of Ras Tafari youth living along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, I bring to you another inspiring story, that of Aini-Alem Browne-Dennis.

Aini, the daughter of IDOR's Vice President, Mama Thea, won 1st place for her youth entrepreneur business plan, Aini's Sorbet.

The competition was held by the Washington D.C. based Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), where Aini was selected ahead of her peers for a business plan that demonstrated the highest business acumen and organizational foresight.

The Baltimore/Washington D.C. Ras Tafari community is very proud of Aini and pray Jah richest blessings on her as she continues her quest for greatness; we also offer big CONGRATULATIONS to her parents for instilling in her the discipline of hard work, plus the moral and economic virtues of Haile Selassie I.

As Haile Selassie I taught us:

“Education develops the intellect; and the intellect distinguishes man from other creatures. It is education that enables man to harness nature and utilize her resources for the well-being and improvement of his life. The key for the betterment and completeness of modern living is education. But, ' Man cannot live by bread alone '. Man, after all, is also composed of intellect and soul. Therefore, education in general, and higher education in particular, must aim to provide, beyond the physical, food for the intellect and soul. That education which ignores man's intrinsic nature, and neglects his intellect and reasoning power can not be considered true education.”

The Iniversal Development of Ras Tafari Inc. (IDOR), is a Baltimore and Washington D.C. based non-profit organization, established to increase awareness of the teachings and life examples of Haile Selassie I. You can check the website at
