There have been a lot of big name rappers in the news this week here in Central Iowa. From new concert announcements to substitute headliners, here are the details.

The 7 Flags Event Center in Clive has announced that Machine Gun Kelly will bring the Still Laced Up Tour to the venue on Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. Best known for his 2011 gold single "Wild Boy", Kelly (born Richard Colson Baker) released a new mixtape entitled Black Flag last June. Tickets for the all ages show are $25 ($50 for VIP package) through Ticketfly.

The next day, on April 25, the I Am T-Pain Tour comes to the Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines at 9 p.m. Best known for the single "I'm Sprung", T-Pain (born Faheem Rasheed Najm) has garnered two Grammy Awards, two #1 albums, and a #1 single. He expects to release a new album entitled Stoicville: The Phoenix sometime later in the year. Tickets to see the Autotuning rapper will be $27 in advance and $35 at the door. No onsale date has been announced yet.

Finally, the headliner for the 2014 VEISHEA celebration at Iowa State University in Ames has been changed. Due to a scheduling conflict, 3-time Grammy winner Ludacris has cancelled and has been replaced by T.I. T.I., (Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr.) has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards himself and has had six straight #1 Rap albums. His new album Paperwork: The Motion Picture is expected to be released later this year. Iowa State University has stated that all ticket issues due to the change should be directed to veishea@iastate.edu.
