According to a Jan. 28 report on the NY Daily News website, rapper Rick Ross is the possible focus of an investigation that involves a shooting and car crash early Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale.
Police are trying to determine what caused the Rolls Royce driven by Ross to leave the street and crash into a building in the early hours of Monday. NBC Miami is reporting that Ross was fired upon from another vehicle which caused his vehicle to leave the roadway.
Ross, 37, whose legal name is William L. Roberts, and his passenger, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-el, 28, managed to avoid injury. Police did not initially release their names because they were both “fearful for their lives.”
A number of witnesses have stated they saw Ross driving the Rolls, a silver 2011 edition. Police are now looking for the shooter and driver of the other vehicle. That vehicle fled the scene before police arrives.
No bullet holes were seen on the Rolls but according to the Washington Post, a bullet hole was found in the window of a nearby restaurant.
