Blue or pink hair, over-the-top make-up, in your face lyrics and raunchy attitude was a persona Lil’ Kim started almost twenty years ago.
Sadly, at the time, pop-culture and society did not catch on to Lil' Kim’s character, and did not allow for Kim to reach the success Nicki Minaj is today.
Entertainer and American Idol judge, Nicki Minaj basically carries herself and performs similar to what was Lil’ Kim’s style many years ago, a rapping, shocking-style phenomenon that Lil’ Kim accuses Minaj of copying.
Because of this, Lil Kim has always feuded with Nicki Minaj publicly and feels Minaj should credit her.
"If you are going to steal my swag, you gonna have to pay. Something gotta give. You help me, I help you. That's how it goes to me," Lil’ Kim has been quoted saying.
Nicki Minaj did get a chance to fire back at Lil’ Kim through an interview with Angie Martinez at New York Hip-Hop station, Hot 97 by stating that all Lil’ Kim does is pick fights with everybody, but doesn’t put out music.
While Nicki Minaj continues to grow her success and can be watched twice a week during American Idol’s 12th season, Lil’ Kim still feuds and bitches about Minaj.
Just days ago, a TMZ reporter asked Lil’ Kim, “Do you think Nicki Minaj would be as big as she is if there never was a Lil’ Kim?”
Kim answered, “I think that is self-explanatory.” Sarcastically, Lil’ Kim continued, “If you have to ask that, I think you know the answer.”
Today, Nicki Minaj is worth close to triple the millions Lil’ Kim is worth, and both rappers who hail from New York, continue to make public appearances with their wigs, weave and wild behavior.
