Atlanta-based rapper Doe B, whose real name is Glenn Thomas, was shot dead around 1:30 a.m. in Montgomery, Ala. The Huffington Post reported on December 28 that the rapper was shot to deal in the early hours of Saturday.
Soon after the shooting, Montgomery Police responded to a report of multiple people shot at the Centennial Hill Bar and Grill on Highland Avenue in Montgomery. When they arrived, they found Kimberle Johnson dead, while Doe B (Glenn Thomas) was pronounced dead at the hospital. Six others received treatment for gunshot injuries.
It is unknown who is responsible for the shooting at this time. No suspects or witnesses have been made public.
The Centennial Hill Bar and Grill opened earlier this year after the Rose Hill Club, which formerly occupied the space, was shut down following a December 2012 shooting that caused them to lose their liquor license.
Doe B was signed to T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records and was part of what is known as the Hustle Gang. T.I. took to Twitter to post his condolences, saying "We gon miss u … U’ll never be forgotten & U WILL NOT DIE IN VAIN.”
