Federal prosecutors in Ga. issued a release stating that the gun charges stem from two separate incidents in Sept. followed by the 33-year-old Gucci Mane being arrested.

"On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm," the release said.

"Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney."

Following that arrest, Gucci Mane, a.k.a. Radric Davis, was charged with disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and carrying a handgun.

It was that same week in Sept. that Atlantic Records dropped the rapper from their roster of artists.

Gucci has been cooling his heels in jail since being indicted on gun charges by a federal grand jury on Nov. 19.

Each charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Prior to his Sept. arrest, Mane ran into some trouble in March, 2013 and was arrested for “hitting a man over the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub.”

The victim of that assault, a fan of the rapper, told police that he tried starting up a conversation with Gucci Mane during a party at the Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge in Atlanta, when Mane hit him in the head with a bottle.

Additional brushes with the law include a 2001 arrest on cocaine charges for which he was sentenced to 90 days in county lockup.

Several years later while serving a six-month jail term for assault in late 2005, Davis was charged with murder, although the charges against him were later dropped due to a lack of evidence.

In 2009, he served a year-long county jail sentence for violating probation for his 2005 aggravated assault conviction.
