New York fashion week is almost coming to a close and I can tell you now the trend to expect Fall 2014—Monochrome. It’s back to black and white. I’ll start at Raoul FW Fall 2014 presentation, which took place at Lincoln Center’s Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. Channeling 60s glam, Raoul pieces included draping, geometric patterns, mod inspired dresses and exquisite accessories. There were black and white patterned pieces including a sleeveless top and knee skirt combo and a pant jumpsuit. Continuing the reference to monochrome there were all white/all black embellished collared pantsuits. The collection had black and white color blocking, jewel tones, and feathers, a v-neck dress with a drop waist of black feathers
Referencing the 60s again, the flower cut-out black thigh high dress had a mod-60's feel to it. Stand out pieces included a light satin blue gown with a jeweled collar which flowed with natural ease and softness. Also the black and blue floral sweater could easily be worn today!
Raoul’s brand new accessories line, designed in partnership with French shoe designer Raphael Young included jewelry, handbags and shoes. The debut shoe line included luxe metallic accents, leopard print, throwback shoe silhouettes with contemporary accents. Ponyhair was featured on both shoes and handbags. Look out for the Marion Tote! Another accessory mention: a pair of open-toed leopard print and brown booties and metallic trimmed slip-on shoes with platforms.
Raoul opted for a presentation instead of your traditional runway show this season, allowing viewers to have a closer look at the new collection which you can do as well. Check out the photo gallery to see images from Raoul Fall 2014 Collection.
