As the NFL preseason kicks into full gear, we will be taking a look into the top players at each position. The breakdown of the players will be within the division itself. The first players we will be taking a look at are the signal callers. The quarterback position is arguably the most important position in sports.
While some teams across the NFL have established starters, other organizations are looking to build a solid nucleus. The Next division under the microscope is the NFC West. Personally, this is the most exciting division for quarterbacks.
The NFC West will be must see television the whole year. With the emergence of Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick, the entire division changed its course for years to come. They are young and exciting talented quarterbacks ready to take over the NFL.
In addition to the new generation, Sam Bradford is ready to come into his own and lead the St. Louis Rams to a playoff berth. Offensive familiarity should benefit the future star greatly this season.
The veteran of the bunch, Carson Palmer is hoping to be the savior of the Arizona Cardinals. They haven’t produced much offense lately, and if he’s able to connect with Larry Fitzgerald, all bets for the division winner are off.
Here are the NFC West quarterback rankings.
4. Carson Palmer- Arizona Cardinals- Carson Palmer should have one of his best season in quite sometime. Last year he threw 22 touchdown passes with the Raiders. His main goal will be to put some touchdowns on the board with consistency. Palmer has an uphill battle as the only new starter for their respective clubs.
3. Sam Bradford- St. Louis Rams- Will Sam Bradford make enough progress to earn a playoff spot? Remember St. Louis only lost one game within the division last year. The Rams retooled with some explosive offensive weapons in the offseason. For Sam, it’s time to shine.
2. Colin Kaepernick- San Francisco 49ers- How can anyone have Colin Kaepernick at number two? He took the 49ers to the Super Bowl last season, while starting half the season. Imagine what he can accomplish with a full season under his belt.
1. Russell Wilson- Seattle Seahawks- There’s something absolutely special about Russell Wilson. His smooth demeanor in and out of the pocket highlights all of his versatility. At this point, Wilson is neck and neck with Kaepernick. Last season he threw 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
