Rangers vs. Canadiens 2/23/13

Here are some notes for those fans watching the New York Rangers (8-6-2) take on the Montreal Canadiens (11-4-2) in NHL action. This is the second of three meetings between the clubs, with the Canadiens holding a 1-0 edge thus far in the season series.

New York is coming off of two straight losses, to the Canadiens in regulation at home and to the Senators at Ottawa in a shutout. Overall, the Blueshirts have one victory in their last four games, three of which were played without Rick Nash in the lineup as he recovers from a mystery injury that is yet to be revealed.

The player to watch for on the Rangers is Derek Stephan who has points in three straight games and has four points in his last five. Henrik Lundqvist has allowed five goals in his last three games, posting a .939 save percentage, so you know the King will be hungry in the cage for a victory tonight.

The Rangers and Canadiens game is set to air on the MSG network with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
