Randy Travis sentenced: Singer pleads guilty to DUI, gets probation

Randy Travis sentenced to probation after entering plea in court admitting to DUI. According to a report at MSN Travis pled guilty to drunk driving charges related to an incident last year where he was discovered naked in his crashed Pontiac Trans Am.

The 54-year-old country music singer and actor entered the plea in a Sherman, Texas courthouse where he was sentenced to a "180-day suspended jail sentence, 24 months of probation and a $2,000 fine." Travis will also have to spend at least 30 days at an alcohol treatment facility, complete 100 hours of community service, and is required to have an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he operates while he is on probation.

According to investigators, Travis was found naked and combative in his crashed car last summer, with a blood alcohol level of more than 0.15. The legal limit for driving is 0.08. The misdemeanor charge was punishable by up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine.

As Randy Travis left the courthouse on Thursday, he thanked supporters and said he was glad to be moving on from the case.
