Updates about Randy Travis and his health have been few and far between, but singer and songwriter Bonnie Paul, who co-wrote “Childhood Sweethearts” with Travis, keeps fans up-to-date on Twitter whenever she can.
When asked on Twitter Feb. 7 how Randy Travis was doing, Bonnie Paul was kind enough to reply, “Doing great!” Randy Travis co-wrote “Childhood Sweethearts” with and produced “Calm Before the Storm”. In a video on Bonnie Paul’s YouTube channel, Randy Travis can be seen helping Bonnie work on the vocals for “Calm Before the Storm”.
Recently an unreleased demo of Randy Travis singing “Childhood Sweethearts” was posted to YouTube courtesy of Bonnie Paul.
In addition to updates from Bonnie Paul, country music singer Neal McCoy posted a photo of Randy Travis at a recent “Smiles for Life” concert in Dallas. McCoy noted that this was Randy’s first outing since his stroke in July of 2013.
Randy Travis’s father, in an interview with Closer Weekly, confirmed that Randy Travis is able to play his guitar a little bit and is getting his voice back. Traywick noted that Randy Travis is anxious to get back to work.
