Randy Travis is receiving treatment while working on new music

As previously reported, Randy Travis had decided to give up alcohol following several run-ins with the law, and numerous embarrassing instances which received a great deal of public attention.

In a TMZ report dated Sat. Jan. 26, they shared that Travis has not only given up the bottle, but he is also actively seeking treatment for his alcohol problems, while recording two albums.

It is certain that this is a different Randy Travis than what we were seeing during much of 2012 as altercations, an overturned pickup truck, and a naked DWI were reported.

Randy’s lawyer Larry Friedman told TMZ, “Randy’s health is on the upswing, but he still wants to get professional help so he can maintain his booze-free path to sobriety.”

Friedman also shared that though Randy will be going through treatment, he will continue recording during that time. His two albums are slated for release at the end of the year.

It looks as though Randy is on the up and up as Friedman further shared that Randy’s record sales are up, and bookings have recently reached an all-time high.

Apparently Mr. Travis has made a new year’s resolution that he intends to follow through with. Travis’ fans are certainly glad to see the country star doing well again, and hope that the past remains just that.
