Randy Blythe acquitted in the death of a fan

Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe was acquitted of the charge of causing bodily harm to another person with lethal consequences today in the Czech Republic.

Blythe was arrested in June of last year when Lamb of God returned to the Czech Republic for the first time since the incident happened back in 2010. Blythe was unaware of the investigation taking place and found himself in prison for five weeks, until he was released on $400,000 bail. Blythe pleaded not guilty to the case and acknowledged that he pushed the teenager off of the stage, but was unaware of any injuries the kid may have suffered as a result.

The court’s ruling today put blame at the concert’s organizers for the accident, though state prosecutors still plan to appeal the verdict looking for a five-year sentence for the popular musician. The family of the 19-year-old who fell to his death at the show in question are still seeking compensation and were told by the court to file a separate case.
