The Inland Empire in southern California was plagued with two random violent crimes this past Friday and today involving a death and severe injuries. In both incidents, there was no evidence suggesting an altercation or disagreement. The perpetrators in these crimes acted without cause and without considering the lives of others.
Today an unidentified victim was found dead in his car after being shot while driving home. After the shooting, his car coasted off the road until it crashed. Investigators state that the incident appears random but they must conduct a full investigation before speculating further.
Random victim shot multiple times in the face
This past Friday, a convenience store clerk was shot in the face multiple times by a suspect who continues to walk the streets of the Inland Empire. The victim surprisingly was able to seek help before collapsing from his injuries. Investigators are not sure what caused the shooting but will continue to evaluate all angles to solve the crime.
Random violent crimes are problematic as it is extremely difficult to solve them. Many homicides involve a victim and a perpetrator who are associated in some manner that makes conviction easier.
