Conservatives must defeat the progressives in the 2016 election if the center-right majority of citizens are going to take this country back from the far left. Nominating Rand Paul for president and Dr. Ben Carson for vice president would be a great way of having two principled conservative leaders and a winning ticket in 2016.
The politics in Washington DC is so out of phase with reality that the process of compromise has resulted in the most radical policies of our times. For far too long the product of Democrats and Republicans “crossing the aisle” to compromise is nearly $17 trillion in national debt. Extreme policy has become so commonplace in the nation's capitol that reasonable common-sense policies look extreme. That is how the extreme politicians, the progressives of both parties, have taken us down this road. They've made the most extreme policies seem moderate to the point that the reasonable policies are readily made to seem extreme.
When leaders like Rand Paul, who wrote a very moderate sensible federal budget that was called extreme by those inside the beltway, or Dr. Ben Carson, who suggested a simple but brilliant health care reform that the politicians think is extreme, rise and suggest common-sense ideas, the insiders say those ideas are naive, unrealistic, simplistic and extreme. The condemned Ronald Reagan in the same way and he clearly was the best president of our life times.
Progressives on the far left will try to use the same old political tactics they always do, just like they did during last year's election, and try to define Dr. Paul and Dr. Carson as “extremists” who can't be trusted and “wacko birds” that want to give us dirty air, polluted water and give away everything to the “wealthy” and the special interest groups. This would come from the far left, the real extremists who have already given away everything to the special interest groups and their cronies which is in part why the country is almost $17 trillion in debt. They are the extremists that funded Solyndra for hundreds of millions and authorized millions in wasted money like the studies of lesbians and their drinking and obesity problems. The progressives are the extremists currently pushing full speed for same-sex marriage which is neither good for society or healthy for raising children. They are the extremists whose first reaction to the last shooting tragedy, by a wacko targeting defenseless citizens in a government-declared gun free zone (proposed by the left of course), is to propose more regulations and laws against the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. Progressives are the ones who are unwilling to effectively defend our country against enemies around the world while at the same time declaring peaceful citizens who disagree with the government their enemies and “potential domestic terrorists.” These are the extremists in this current regime who's Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion rounds of hollow-point ammunition and plan to buy more, for who knows what purpose. In short, the progressive far left owns just about every policy currently in place in Washington DC and they are the reason the country is in such a mess. Real reform can only come from electing a ticket of principled conservative reformers like Rand Paul and Ben Carson.
Because we've gotten used to the extreme policy we have in place, thanks to the progressives, the common-sense policy we need might seem extreme, and will no doubt be called extreme by the hard left.
I've proposed that common-sense conservative agenda and I think it's very well in line with the views of Rand Paul and Ben Carson. You can read my 10 point agenda for conservative victory here.
Senator Rand Paul and Dr. Ben Carson are exactly the kind of principled leaders who can run on, get elected, and implement a common-sense conservative agenda like that. This would help rebuild our economy, reduce the size of our government, and return the country to freedom and prosperity again. The best way we can restore American Exceptionalism and repudiate the failed policies of the extreme progressive left is to elect Paul and Carson in 2016 to implement this very kind of sensible conservative vision.
