Ramona Rizzo’s fiance has been sentenced to 15 years in prison over drug dealing charges. The New York Daily News reports on Aug. 17 that the “Mob Wives” star was in court to support him. Joseph Sclafani was found guilty of dealing cocaine and admitted to making bad choices.
Ramona Rizzo had been planning her wedding to Joseph “Joe Boy” Sclafani for several months. Her fiance was arrested in 2011 and accused of drug dealing with the help of another associate. Joseph Sclafani was considered part of the Gambino family and worked with Neil Lombardo to distribute the cocaine.
Rizzo and Sclafani became engaged in February while he was already in prison. Joseph’s criminal record also includes hiding a fugitive and growing marijuana. Ramona immediately began to plan a summer ceremony for 500 guests with the help of an expensive wedding planner. Rizzo, who has been married before and has four children from the relationship, claimed the kids loved Joseph and supported her decision.
The “Mob Wives” star had previously indicated she wanted a June wedding with Joseph Sclafani and considered the option of having him call from jail during the ceremony. In June, Rizzo, who is the granddaughter of Benjamin Ruggiero, had a bachelorette party at Crazy Horse III in Las Vegas with her friends. However, it appears the wedding plans have been changed for now. Although she was in court to hear him sentenced to 15 years in prison, Ramona Rizzo did not talk to the media later.
