According to TSN on Monday, the Calgary Flames will be without their goaltender, Karri Ramo until after the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Ramo was injured in Calgary's 4-3 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The nature of the injury was a sprained medial collateral ligament.

Ramo made six saves on six Wild shot attempts before Reto Berra came into the game.

It was very interesting that the Flames called up Finnish prospect Jani Ortio instead of the more experienced netminder in Joey MacDonald to backup Berra this week. The Flames play the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers before the NHL stops play for two weeks.

After the Olympic break, the Flames' first game will be against the Los Angeles Kings on February 27.

The Flames are red hot at the moment because they have won their last five games.
