Ralph Nader Critical of President Obama on Gun Control Efforts

Ralph Nader is not new to politics and not known to bite his tongue or hold back on much. But when a guy like Ralph Nader is critical of the President on Gun Control and feels he is taking a one-sided approach then many liberal heads should be turning. By any stretch of one's imagination Ralph Nader would not be considered a strong supporter of 2nd Amendment rights like many on the left. Ralph Nader is holding nothing back in his criticisms of the Obama Administration in regards to Gun Control. This is not the first time that he has been very vocal about President Obama.

Nader has long been an outspoken critic of the 44th President, accusing him of using false rhetoric to captivate the youth of the nation without having the will to affect real change in Washington.

Recently, his criticisms have fallen on Obama on the subject of gun control, which Nader says needs to focus more on violent video game culture.

If there was one thing that Ralph Nader is correct on in regards to Gun Violence that he is justified in criticizing the Obama Administration on is the blatant responsibility and contributions from the violent video game industry.

“We are in the peak of [violence in entertainment]. Television program violence? Unbelievable. Video game violence? Unprecedented,” Nader said. “I’m not saying he wants to censor this, I think he should sensitize people that they should protect their children family by family from these kinds of electronic child molesters.”

Vice President Biden met with the Gaming Industry prior to making his recommendations to the President but you can't help but wonder if he arrived with his bank account open for more political contributions versus to counsel them like the rhetoric directed toward the NRA and the gun manufacturers. Ever since the rhetoric began it has been mostly one sided and now Ralph Nader is getting "Into the Game", no pun intended and saying essentially that it's more than JUST THE GUNS!! Probably won't be hearing too much about his comments on the main stream news outlets though.

"Nader trashes Obama second term as bull" and says:

He added the president's gun control package doesn't go far enough. Nader said Obama should "sensitize" people to violent video games, calling their manufacturers "electronic child molesters."

Regardless of your thoughts and opinions about Ralph Nader it is clear that the President will have an uphill battle with critics like Ralph Nader coming from the left and house republicans coming from the right. Either way it is obvious that both Guns and the Gun Industry have really been demonized recently in the media and the story has been very much one sided against guns.

Last time I checked my guns didn't kill anyone on their own. It's great to hear Jesse Ventura's statement and conversation with Piers Morgan that he has a gun safe at home and that he has never heard the guns go off on their own"...."people kill people".

People are complicated and so is the multi-factoral issue of "gun violence". From kids in broken homes with single parents, to mental health issues and reporting, medications used to treat these disorders, to a violent movie and video game culture. All of these factors play a role and it's really time to stop just blaming guns! Thanks to Ralph Nader for reiterating that fact!
