Ralph Macchio expressed frustration during his pre-taped segment of Dancing with the Stars on Monday night. The actor was hoping to regain his lead of the scoreboard with a solid Paso Doble that could shake down the competition. It was the fall of Karina Smirnoff that brought down the team, literally. Tripping on the costume, the pro dancer was leveled when she walked behind Macchio during one of the steps, leaving them recovering. Appearing to be more shaken up about it than Ralph, Smirnoff was all apologetic after the incident.
While apologies are nice, the judges scores were not pretty. The couple got a 24 out of 30 for the evening leaving them second to the bottom of the scoreboard and definitely in jeopardy of being eliminated on Tuesday’s show. Plus, Brooke Burke cut off the couple during the after show wrap, so not much was shared as there was little live air time left.
While the dance tonight can be the reason Ralph Macchio didn’t make the top of the leaderboard, he worry should be focused on the fans. Ever since his dance pro partner’s nude photos have been on the newsstands this month, the popularity of this celebrity has significantly dropped. On Tuesday’s show, the fate or Ralph Macchio is one storyline everyone will be following to see if this trip cost him the mirror ball trophy.
