Ralph Lauren shows texture for fall 2013 at New York Fashion Week (Photos)

Ralph Lauren sent his fall/winter 2013/2014 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway today and gave the fashion world a gypsy baroque vibe mixed with boho-chic style. The handbag collection on Ralph Lauren’s runway was equally textured and evoked a bohemian vibe with a mix of fabrications.

The iconic American designer showed a mix of textured fabrics in dark, winter hues which were a stark move away from the bright colors and light layers most designers have been showing for fall/winter 2013/2014 at New York Fashion Week. Ralph Lauren’s handbag collection featured classic styles as well as bohemian silhouettes which blended perfectly with the apparel collection on his New York Fashion Week runway.

Ralph Lauren designed several handbag styles for the fall/winter 2013/2014 season. There were slouchy totes made from embroidered fabrics and leather with velvet trim or fur trim. There were also structured handbags which included backpacks, shoulder bags and satchels. In addition to daytime handbags, Ralph Lauren also showed hard box clutches in classic black for evening occasions.

The handbag collection Ralph Lauren designed for fall/winter 2013/2014 is distinctive. The seasonal handbag styles which evoke a boho-chic meets gypsy baroque vibe feature cold weather fabrications which are fresh and unlike what other designers have been showing for fall/winter 2013/2014. In addition to the seasonal handbag styles, Ralph Lauren, who is known for his timeless designs, also offered structured handbags on his New York Fashion Week runway which are classic and will make good investment handbags for a handbag collector.
