Every year the Colorado League of Charter Schools sponsors a rally at the capitol in Denver to spotlight the needs and successes of charter schools. This year's rally will be on April 11 from 11:30 to 1:00. The rally serves as a reminder to legislators that charter schools need their support and that charter school leaders and students are committed to achieving success.
While the agenda for the rally hasn't been announced, past rallies have included speakers from the state legislature who are friends of charter schools, leaders of charter schools, and students from charter schools.
The rally also normally includes great musical performances from charter school students from around the state. Last years rally included student debates.
The rally also includes a tour of the capitol building for students and parents.
This year's event marks the 20th anniversary of charter schools.
There are almost 180 charter schools in the state with about 80,000 students. Colorado has one of the best charter school records of any state in the country.
