Thirty three year old Todd Lawrence Kurth has been jailed in Wake County N.C. Wednesday on charges of raping and molesting a 12 year old over a number of years.
The investigators believe the incidents began in 2001 and ended in 2010 according to court documents.
Todd Lawrence Kurth of Raleigh, according to an arrest warrant, was charged with one felony count of first degree rape, one count of indecent liberties with a child and two felony counts of statutory rape.Officers believe Kurth raped the child multiple times from December 1, 2005 through June 4, 2006, then again on June 4, 2007 through June 4, 2010.
The indecent liberties are believed to have been taken beginning on June 3, 2001 through June 4, 2003.
Allegations of this case were first learned of in May from a psychotherpy counselor who had reported to the Sheriff's office that a juvenile had claimed to being the victim of sexual assault over several years. This was obtained from a search warrant that was made public today.
Kurth is still in custody in Wake County jail under a $100,000 bond as reported by the Charlotte Observer. Article is located here.
