Rajon Rondo rumors have the point guard of the Boston Celtics hinting at a return against the LA Lakers. These Rajon Rondo rumors were spurred by a post the he put up on Twitter. According to a report from early Tuesday (Jan. 14), the former NBA All-Star posted "29,233,380 secs" to his Twitter account following another ugly loss on Monday night (Jan. 13). That works out to the exact duration of time between when he had surgery back on Feb. 13 and when the team is expected to tip off against the Lakers on Friday (Jan. 17).
Fantasy basketball owners and fans of the team could look at this as a big tip that he will return to the starting lineup that night. Going up against a team with no real point guard and close to the worst record in the NBA might be the perfect way for him to break back into the league. It would certainly be the perfect scenario for any player to return to the court from a torn ACL, but there is also a chance that he is just teasing fans and the media.
Things have gotten pretty ugly for the Boston Celtics, so these Rajon Rondo rumors might give fans a short reprieve from how terribly the team has been playing. They are currently mired in a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them to 13-26 and 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Despite all that, they are still only three games back from the eighth spot and sneaking into the 2014 NBA Playoffs. The Friday game against the LA Lakers comes at home before the team heads back out on the road.
