Raj and Sheldon call HR staff ‘brown sugar’ and ‘slave’ on 'The Big Bang Theory' (Video)

The Big Bang Theory” returned on Jan. 3 after a three week hiatus. According to a Jan. 4 The Business of Television Broadcasting and Cable report, “Big Bang” had the highest ratings in the history of the series on Thursday night episode, which helped CBS win the night overall.

The episode, titled “The Egg Salad Equivalency,” centered on Sheldon’s assistant, Alex, asking Leonard out to dinner. Sheldon calls Penny, Bernadette and Amy together to ask what he should do. “Sheldon Cooper’s Council of Ladies” urge him to talk to Alex.

Sheldon makes Alex very uncomfortable by telling her women are like egg salad on a hot day - full of eggs and only appealing for a limited time. Alex files a complained with HR and Sheldon is reprimanded for his comments.

Dr. Cooper explains that he wasn’t singling Alex out and that he meant all women are slaves to hormones. The African-American HR director was not impressed when he told her, “You’re a slave, too.”

Sheldon went on to tell her that Raj refers to her as “brown sugar,” adding that isn’t racist because Raj is also brown.

What did you think of Sheldon’s comments on “The Big Bang Theory”? Do you think HR should have reprimanded him more?
