Raising the Roof at Darwin's December 28, 2013

The Raise the Roof campaign benefit at Darwin's Blues Club in Marietta was legendary last night. Even though the ice cold rain was falling outside, inside the place was packed. So many great local groups came out to support the Raise the Roof campaign. Among the musicians were Timo and Tamara, Nathan Nelson, Veronica Jackson, Mudcat, Chicago Joe, The Breeze Kings, and The Cazanovas. Little G Weevil was the host of the event which was a benefit for the blues foundation's project to build a physical building for the Blues Hall of Fame.

People were standing everywhere and it was difficult to move. Yet people managed to get up and dance. I even got up and danced during Chicago Joe's set, which is something I never do. Also, I believe I have never hugged so many people at one event. It seemed as though half the people I know were there.

In all it was a wonderful evening and all of the musicians and Darwin's are to be congratulated for helping out such a great cause.

Please see the slideshow for pictures of the event.
