Rains prepare to tour again, invite fans to help keep new album independent

Indiana rock band Rains have been confirmed as support for Black Stone Cherry and Cavo on their upcoming American tour kicking off on February 1.

Their first tour of the new year is just the start of a busy 2012 touring schedule for the band.

Rains ended the year out on the Share the Welt tour.

The massive trek with Hatebreed, All That Remains and Five Finger Death Punch made a successful December stop in Plymouth at the Compuware Arena.

Touring behind their self-released debut album, Stories, Rains is currently in the studio working on their second album.

Hailing from a small town in northern Indiana, lead singer/guitarist/band namesake Jeff Rains and company are making a name for themselves the old-fashioned way, with hard work and determination, winning over supporters one at a time.

With no support from a traditional record label, the first single from Stories, "Liar," cracked the Top 15 of Sirius/XM's Octane channel, causing hard rock music fans to take notice.

The band is determined to remain independent and in order to do so they have started a fundraising project on Kickstarter at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rains/rains-an-independent-album-project?ref=users#

In return for fan donations, the band is offering a number of generous awards including free downloads of the Stories album and their new single, merch bundles, autographs , a meet and greet, dinner with the band and even opportunities to sing with band, name their album and take the stage with them.

Rains is Jeff Rains (lead vocals/guitar), Jason Anderson (guitar/backing vocals), Matt Hopkins (bass) and Joe Schultz (drums).
