Rainchild Is “Learning To Love the Type of Trouble They’ve Been Getting In”
Or so the lyrics go in “Wings”. The song is one of three tunes on their recently released independent studio EP called “Anatomy 1/4.” My technical opinion is that it’s “beyond good.” I can say that since I have been listening to the songs over and over for awhile now. They are addicting. “Again” and “Watershed” are both very melodic. All of the song lyrics are very personal.
“Anatomy 1/4” is raw, bluesy and more like 70’s rock than modern. Rainchild coins their style as “Gulf Coast Rock.” The name “Rainchild” makes me think of an era when it was all about the music. I asked Dustin Condon (vocals) about the name and he said, “Rainchild is four people functioning as one entity. Rainchild would be that entity’s name.”
The said entity began performing around the Houston area in 2006. Rainchild has opened for The Hunger, headlined during Galveston’s Mardi Gras, has been a Texas Buzz band twice in the 30 days at Scout Bar and came in first place in the House Of Blues Battle of the Bands Showcase last September. The win ensures they land an opening spot for a national band’s tour stop at HOB in 2011.
Rainchild's main goal is to “make a big impact on the Texas music scene and provide good quality entertainment to live music concert goers.” Condon adds that the musical journey has been a “labor of love getting the music out to the fans.”
If you cannot make it out to see the band live, then go to ITunes or CDBaby and download “Anatomy 1/4.” The EP was recorded at Sound Arts Recording Studio and produced by Jim Finley Productions. Condon says Finley is the “unofficial fifth member of Rainchild.” The artwork credit goes to Condon.
Members of the “four piece powerhouse band” are Condon, Jason Degge (guitar), Donnie Lackey (drums) and Ross Facundo (bass.) Find out more at www.rainchildband.com.

Great article, great band! This Houston area powerhouse is amazing! Their melodic alternative style, strikes inner chords of emotion and their raw stage presences and sincerity is astoundingly addictive. The are truly talented musicians with intense classical music training and have amazing chemistry, originality and a perfected sound to the discerning ear. There is a reason why this band wins competitions and has a very loyal following. As a music connoisseur and musician I have fallen for this band, and I am sure you will too.

Rainchild Rocks Hard!!
I've been a fan since the beginning and I have a feeling these guys will be touring soon- they have mass appeal, only time...
Man though- It's unbelievable they lost one of the founding members, the original drummer. I wanted to touch on the subject because I think there's a lot of the story untold & I'm only putting this out there because I don't think he ever got the credit where it was due when he was playing. I have not talked to him since he's been gone. Homeboy was bonkers-crazy of a drummer: always played with intense passion, fierce aggressiveness, with a progressive-minded approach... dude had mad skills- a serious, top-notch, musician on a pro-level. One of the best drummers I've ever seen or listened to, and definitely the most fun to watch live. I would tell friends of mine to come out to shows when he was playing with them & there was always one constant in opinion whether they liked anything else or not: "...drummer is crazy-good!" or " drummer is something special to watch." blew my mind how he able to pull off the stuff he did) an overall cool person to be around, I would notice he'd make an effort to connect with as many fans as possible. Hopefully he's either playing for somebody- (dude has got skills, people i know assumed he'd go pro- or be asked by a label rep to come work as a studio drummer or be set up with some other musicians on a tour) ... or they decide to do some reunion gigs! Ya dude- We miss you and your crazy skills tearing up those drums!
