The Rainbow Fashion Week (RFW) “Inside the Celebrity Closet” fashion show was an incredible event that took Friday at Stage 48. The designs were incredible, the models were gorgeous, and the performances were awesome.
The event was produced by Eric “E-Stylz” Santiago, co-produced by Romeo Schneider and Donna Chan, and executive produced by RFW founder E. Jaguar Beckford. The fashion show was hosted by Dwight Eubanks of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Married to Medicine,” with the #HappySelfie after party hosted by Grammy Award-winning R&B singer, Ashanti. Actor Richard Pryor Jr. was a very special, surprise guest. Shoe designer and celebutante Evette Holyfield hosted the red carpet, and there were a number of giveaways for attendees to participate in. DJs Latin and Star Blaze provided the sounds, and a portion of the event’s proceeds went to GLAAD.
One of the fantastic, up-and-coming designers to present their work was Bertini Heumegni. Also a model in his own right, the designer presented sexy pieces from his Bertini Underwear collection. According to the company’s Facebook page, the items feature “90% cotton for comfort and slimming effect on the body,” with “10% for extra support and [stretch].” For women there were wifebeater-style tank dresses with branding on the front and back. The models oozed sex appeal, and their toned physiques highlighted the ideal fit of the boxer briefs and tanks perfectly.
Rainbow Fashion Week founder E. Jaguar Beckford’s Jag & Co. line presented stylish summer separates for the fashion-forward. Shorts, blazers, pocket squares, suspenders, and hats dominated the tailored looks. The pieces flatter broader shoulders and sculpted legs in both men and women.
Other designers featured in the event were: Steven Daniel, Original Stush, Intimate Icandie, Parrish-Nation, 212 Show Room NYC, Cesar Valentino, Adrian Alicea, Shanda Style, The Charly Magazine (body painter), Marco Hall, Mystique Boutique NYC, Marty Casey Silver Elements Collection, JSparkle High Heel Designs, Katy Richards Jewelry, Glamour Queenz, House Of Roderick, Heyday Footwear, Pinch NYC, and Tada Jewel.
Performance artist and La Santa Luz Dance Company founder Anthony Rodriguez also gave a wonderful show that included a several talented male and female dancers. Other performers include the BGME Marching Band, Robbie Blake, and female rap duo KIN4LIFE.
