After a beneficial rain event on Friday and cooler temperatures this past weekend, more summer-like weather will be returning this week. High temperatures will climb back into the 90s under mostly sunny skies through Friday. Our weather will begin to change this weekend as a trough of low pressure approaches Texas from the west. Southerly winds will help bring in more moisture from the Gulf of Mexico later this week. As a cold front runs into this moisture across the area next weekend, scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely develop. This rain event is not expected to be as heavy or widespread as the one last Friday, but some places could still receive over 1 inch of rain by early next week. After the cold front moves through the region, cooler and drier weather will return.
