Sometimes, accessories can seem so silly and minuscule, but when your feet, pants, shoes and socks are soaking wet standing in freezing rain, rain boots are more than your best friend. Most rain boots come up to just below your knee and if you are an avid fisherman, you may have waders that come up to your thigh and keep you very dry. Staying dry is one of the most important factors when you are in an evacuation situation, where there is a possibility that you may not be able to return home to change into dry clothes. Keeping your feet dry is one of the most important keys to staying healthy, to ward off chills and hypothermia.
Wherever you are in Colorado, and you do not have a pair of rain boots yet, or for your children, go out and purchase them now. If you have extra pairs, or some that are too small from growing children, then please donate them. Call the evacuation centers and see if you can bring your boots to them or if they have a donation center set up to receive items for evacuees. We are always in this together Colorado, so let's help keep our feet dry to keep us able to help each other.
