RAHC Aware (pronounced, "rock aware") is the advocacy arm of RAHC Music, a Des Moines area Christian Indie record label and division of Renee A Harlem Inc. To help bring light to humanitarian causes, RAHC Aware is creating a collection of urban style clothing and accessories for a cause. This week, it launched the RAHC Pink Collection for breast cancer awareness. All profits from the sale of RAHC Pink products will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Fund.
RAHC Pink is a registered fundraising team (ID: 10389762). You can join their team by visiting their website at http://www.info-komen.org/goto/rahcpink. RAHC Pink is dedicated to making life-saving breast cancer screening available to women who need it by raising awareness and promoting community fundraising projects. A dedication on the team captain's website reads, "...in loving memory of a woman who cared more for others than herself. We love you. That’s why we rock pink."
Another attraction of RAHC Pink products and the RAHC Aware collection indeed, is the lyrical music of every product intro. These product "songs" are catching on in the fashion world. The description for the collection's first "Rock Pink" shoe is called a "shoe-wa-ditty!" Without the photo, you might not know they were selling shoes. But that's just the point. RAHC Pink is creating an audience to bring to the cause... and isn't that what an advocate does? Join RAHC Pink on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/RAHC-Pink/218003564911294 for updates. Shoe-wa-ditty: (for the Rock Pink Pro Keds shoe featured in this article) We hear you. You like your style like you like your music. So rock your runway like you rock your sound. Say it loud. You RAHC! When you walk, people talk – they want to get in sync. You look good! You RAHC pink.
The original design was for a RAHC Pink shoe, including the RAHC Music logo at the heel. This design was tabled for trade approval. The designers would like to see the original version in a future release. RAHC Aware creators are currently planning a RAHC Red collection for the American Heart Association.
After a recent angina scare, the designer began advocating for various humanitarian causes. "I didn't want to let another moment go, wondering, what if..." Why did she choose the Susan G. Komen Fund? She says, "I met a woman at college who helped inspire my faith. She tried to encourage me. I did not even know her name. I found out later that she had breast cancer and passed away. You never forget that feeling of, ‘I just saw her (yesterday, or last week…) after a friend is gone. I wanted to do something sooner... only, sometimes when you are going through your own trials, it is difficult to understand how putting your heart into helping others actually helps you, too. Hopefully, when you get the opportunity, you do something great."
Access to early detection is essential to successful treatment as Breast Cancer is most treatable in its early stages. NBCCEDP is a life-saving program providing breast cancer education, free or low-cost mammograms and follow-up care to thousands of local women who otherwise could not afford these services. Team RAHC Pink urges you to learn more about the NBCCEDP and other breast cancer issues by visiting www.ActNowEndBreastCancer.org. From this website you can also send a message to your Congressional Representative and Senators in support of the NBCCEDP program.
Every donation to the Susan G. Komen fund helps. Did you know that just one hundred dollars could fund a free mammogram and help to save a woman's life? To donate on behalf of RAHC Pink, include their team ID: 10389762 in your donation details. 100% of your donation goes directly to the Susan G. Komen Fund. For your convenience, you can donate directly to the Susan G. Komen Fund from the RAHC Pink Team page at http://www.info-komen.org/goto/rahcpink.
