Louisiana Lafayette secured a sweep over UTSA as they won their Sunday afternoon match 2-1 at Moore Field.
ULL started well with Seth Harrison getting on base before being hit by a pitch before he stole second and was then brought home by a single up the middle from Michael Strentz.
UTSA leveled proceedings as Rodney Garza hit a two-out double to right-center which allowed Horacio Correa III to run three bases and make it home.
But in the third the Ragin Cajuns took the lead in the third which wrapped up the scoring as Harrison led off with a double before a sacrifice fly advanced him to third which allowed Harrison to reach home for the second time of the game on Chase Compton's ground out.
It was a defensive battle for the remaining six innings but UTSA nearly forced extra innings in the ninth.
Jesse Baker made first on an error before Correa's sacrifice bunt advanced him to second before a ground out to third was sent to first, allowing Baker to get through to third with two outs.
John Welborn thought he'd done enough to advance Baker but his shot driven to left was returned rapidly to keep Baker at third.
The game was ended when Ryley Good was forced in to a ground out which handed ULL their third straight win over UTSA.
