Last week on Days, Vivian conspired with Gus at the Brady Pub to bring down Kate. Vivian wondered what Stefano saw in Kate. Gus asked if she planned to seduce Stefano. Vivian laughed and said she wasn’t going to use her feminine wiles against Stefano—she was going to outwit him. Vivian went to the DiMera mansion. Stefano wasn’t pleased to see her, but Vivian asked: “I just have one question for you -- what would you say if I told you that you could do serious damage to Titan, and make more money than a small Arab nation doing it?”
Vivian explained that Titian had made some risky investments and she intended to take advantage of that—but she needed a partner. Stefano admitted he was tempted. Kate came home and was not happy to find Vivian talking to Stefano. Stefano suggested Vivian leave but admitted to Kate she’d made him a tempting offer. Later, Stefano took Kate for a romantic dinner at Chez Rouge. When Kate asked what he wanted, Stefano admitted Vivian had made a business proposition but he wouldn’t consider it if it meant he’d lose her.
At the Brady Pub, Jennifer talked to Hope on the phone as Justin came in and sat down beside her. He handed her the final divorce papers. Jennifer stared at them and tried to smile through her tears. Hope arrived and comforted Jennifer. Jennifer said that she thought the divorce would make her feel better, but she still couldn’t stop thinking about Jack. Hope reminded Jennifer that their grandmother Alice used to say “And this shall pass, too.” Jennifer was supposed to go hiking with Daniel, but she went to his apartment and explained why she wasn’t up for it. Daniel said he understood. Jennifer felt guilty and Daniel was obviously disappointed, but he told her not to worry about it.
Later, at the hospital, Jennifer overheard Daniel talking to Hope. Daniel asked how well Hope knew Jack. He said Jack didn’t sound like a very likeable guy. Daniel and Hope both talked about what a wonderful woman Jennifer was. Jennifer listened and smiled. Daniel went back to his apartment and Jennifer knocked on his door. She asked if it was too late for the hike. He smiled and said it wasn’t. Jennifer explained that she wasn’t going to let Jack ruin any more of her days. The next day at the hospital, Maxine overheard Jennifer tell Daniel she was going to be sore for a week. Jennifer tried to say it was because of the hike, but Maxine just smiled. Jennifer and Daniel laughed together at Maxine’s assumption.
Chloe met with Justin at the Cheatin’ Heart and asked him to check on Parker for her. Justin said his hands were tied. Chloe said she understood—she’d made her bed and she’d have to lie in it. When she left, Justin admitted to Adrienne that he wanted to help Chloe but didn’t know how. Outside the bar, Quinn greeted Chloe. She asked him to leave her alone and forget what happened. He asked what the harm was in a business transaction between friends. She mumbled that she wasn’t like that and that wasn’t why she went with him. Later, Justin stopped Chloe and told her he may be able to get her visitation rights with Parker. As they talked, Quinn eavesdropped.
Later, Quinn found Chloe at the Brady Pub. Chloe was being told off by Kate. She told Quinn to leave her alone, but he apologized for offending her and said he couldn’t forget her. He sat down with her and bought her a drink. Just then, Jennifer and Daniel started to enter the pub. Daniel got a page and had to go to the hospital. As Chloe looked on miserably, Daniel kissed Jennifer and headed back to work. Jennifer came inside and gushed to Caroline. Quinn said it looked like Chloe could use another drink. Chloe said she wanted to go, but Quinn said he didn’t think she should be alone. Quinn took her back to his hotel room and insisted he wanted to help Chloe and make her forget for awhile. “I want to,” Chloe said and kissed him. As Quinn kissed her neck, Chloe called him “Daniel.” She apologized and they continued to have sex.
Melanie ran into Dario outside his apartment. He thanked her for helping him move and invited her over for a drink after work. Melanie mumbled something about not getting too close with the neighbors too soon and rushed off for work. At the hospital, Abby remarked that she saw Melanie helping a guy carry a futon, and he was cute. Melanie called Dario a jerk. Daniel overheard and Melanie explained that she wanted to keep her distance from Dario because he got under her skin the way Phillip did. Daniel said it wasn’t a good idea for her to get attached to anyone yet. Melanie laughed and said she would never get attached to Dario.
At the safe house, Rafe admitted he remembered Sami caring for him there. Sami said she thought his memory loss was like a frozen river and if they kept cracking it, eventually it would flood back. She continued to talk about their past as Rafe had little flashes of memory. Fake Rafe woke up and started making noise. Rafe dragged him out and Fake Rafe said he needed to eat something. Rafe refused, but Sami suggested Rafe go to the store and get some food while she stayed with Fake Rafe and the gun. Rafe obliged but listened outside the safe house door.
Sami taunted Fake Rafe with the gun. She said Rafe was more forgiving than she was and asked if EJ had ever told him she shot him in the head. She said while EJ had paid him to do this, he obviously liked it and he was scum. Fake Rafe dared her to shoot him and said Rafe would just have to clean up her mess again, implying Rafe wasn’t a real man. Sami said she knew better than anyone who the real man was. Rafe opened the door and said the store was closed. Sami went into the bathroom. Fake Rafe taunted Rafe, saying that Sami said he was like a whole new man in the bedroom. Later, Rafe asked Sami if she’d slept with the imposter. Sami admitted she had. Rafe was upset that Sami couldn’t tell the difference, but he told her he understood.
Sami and Rafe left the safe house and went to a hotel. Sami joked around about their sneaking around. Rafe said it reminded him of the time Sami had tried to sneak out of the safe house while he was in the shower. Sami turned and looked at him, shocked. Rafe’s memories came flooding back to him. “Oh, my God, it’s you,” he said, wrapping his arms around Sami. After hours of love making, Sami and Rafe went back to Fake Rafe and announced that they were going to use his debit card to take his DiMera money. Fake Rafe sneered and said he canceled the card.
At the hospital, Brady found Melanie in Troy’s room. Melanie said she was saying goodbye. Troy’s condition had been downgraded to chronic vegetative state and he was being moved to a hospice. Melanie said now they’d never know why he’d killed Arianna. Brady said he’d find out. He went straight to Victor and said he’d give him back a large chunk of Titan if he told him who he sold his drug operation to. Victor begrudgingly admitted it was EJ DiMera.
Meanwhile, Taylor overheard an argument between EJ and Nicole and figured out that Nicole was blackmailing EJ. Taylor confronted EJ and asked what Nicole had on him. EJ refused to tell her but swore to Taylor that he still loved her. Taylor begged EJ to tell her, but he just said he’d done thing he wasn’t proud of. EJ finally agreed that Taylor deserved to know. He was just about to tell her when Nicole arrived home and pretended to be surprised to see Taylor. Taylor said she was just leaving and rushed out of the mansion.
Nicole asked casually what EJ and Taylor were talking about. EJ said Taylor had overheard them and knew Nicole was blackmailing him. EJ said she didn’t know details. Nicole said that was good because Taylor would have gone straight to Sami and the police and it would have been over for EJ. EJ said it would be over for both of them.
Taylorwent to the Brady Pub and started drinking. Brady showed up looking upset and told Taylor he’d gotten some information he didn’t quite know how to handle. Taylor said she’d gotten into an argument with EJ. Brady warned her to stay away from EJ and blurted out that he’d killed the woman he loved. Taylor accused Brady of falsely accusing EJ. He explained the story about Arianna working under cover and how it had gotten her killed… and that he’d learned EJ was in control of the operation.
Horrified, Taylor went straight to the DiMera mansion and confronted EJ. EJ admitted to being in charge of the drug ring but swore he had nothing to do with Arianna’s death. He said he hadn’t known Troy had run over Arianna until he read it in the paper. He’d wanted to turn himself in, he said, but Stefano talked him out of it. EJ swore he had sold the drug operation and hadn’t been involved in anything illegal since he learned about Troy. Confused, Taylor stormed out of the mansion and wondered what to do.
EJ thought about selling the drug operation to Quinn. He remarked that all he had to do was keep Taylor from finding out about Rafe.
