Tonight’s men’s singles clash will be a battle of two determined athletes trying to achieve their respective goals and fulfill their destinies. For 27-year-old, Nadal, the 13-time Grand Slam champion is in search of his second Aussie Open title and keep the streak going after capturing the 2013 U.S. Open.

For 22-year-old, Dimitrov, the man they call “Baby Federer” is looking to keep the breakthrough momentum going, as he plays in the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of his career.

Who will prevail in this battle of wills? For starters, this will be the fourth meeting between the top-seeded Spaniard and the 22nd ranked Bulgarian. Although Nadal comes in undefeated in their head-to-heads, Dimitrov has gone the distance in all of them.

It is going to be very interesting to see how the dynamic of a five-set match plays out, considering this will be the first time they meet in a Grand Slam. Rafael Nadal comes into this match as a huge -900 favorite, while Grigor Dimitrov’s odds of an upset stand at +650.

Tonight’s OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 35, game-spreads have Rafa at -6½ against Maria Sharapova’s boyfriend [+6½], and alternate-set betting stands at -2½ for the Spaniard and +2½ for the young Bulgarian.

Throughout their short history, Nadal has defeated Dimitrov twice on hard courts and once on clay. They met twice last season (Cincy and Monaco) and their first encounter dates back to the 2009 campaign in Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

Can Grigor Dimitrov continue his long awaited ascend towards the top of the ATP world rankings by stunning one of the greatest of all time in Rafael Nadal? Don’t miss tonight’s Australian Open 2014 quarterfinal match on ESPN2 (TV schedule) or ESPN3 (free live stream online).
