On September 17, 2013, Rafael Cox Designs announced that it will present the “Women of Atlanta” fashion show, on October 24, 2013, at the 595 North event hall, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The show will feature Rafael Cox Designs Fall/Winter 2013 Collection while bringing awareness to breast cancer.
“It shows a more mature, edgy side of my aesthetic and tells the story of my ‘girl’ in transition into Fall … becoming stronger as a fashionista … content within her own personal style.” ~ Rafael Cox, Rafael Cox Designs.
Rafael Cox Designs is the fashion house owned by former Project Runway contestant, Rafael Cox, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia. Cox appeared on Season 9 of the televised fashion design competition, Lifetime’s “Project Runway”.
The first segment of the show has been designated to showcase the Rafael Cox Designs Fall/Winter 2013 Collection.
The second segment will honor October’s Breast cancer Awareness month with a celebrity runway display of pink garments worn by the following women of Atlanta:
Erica Dixon, reality star, VH1 “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,”
Mimi Faust, reality star, VH1 “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,”
Quad Webb-Lunceford, reality star, Bravo “Married To Medicine”
Dondria, songstress, SoSo Def R&B songstress
Ebony Steele, radio personality from Rickey Smiley Morning Show and breast cancer survivor
… and two additional breast cancer survivors.
The beneficiary for the Rafael Cox Designs presents “Women of Atlanta” is the Susan G. Komen fund, “a foundation dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment, and the search for a cure” for breast cancer.
