Radtke in ballot bid

Doesn’t want to end up like Gingrich, Santorum in failed VA ballot attempt

Jamie Radtke, the Tea Party’s  favorite Republican in this year’s U.S. Senate race in Virginia is urging supporters to help her get the 15,000 signatures needed to qualify to have her name on the ballot.

Radtke says that her campaign has raised over half a million dollars, garnered over a hundred endorsements from Republican and Tea Party leaders and continues to receive what she terms ‘generous coverage’ from state and national media including an appearance on Fox Business Channel this  past week.

“But none of these things matter if I don’t get my name on the ballot,” Radtke says.

And she’s right; just ask fellow Virginia resident and former Speaker Newt Gingrich who failed to secure enough signatures to get on the March 6 primary ballot along with former Senator Rick Santorum. Both men have taken legal action but a federal judge ruled last Friday saying they waited too long to file their claims.

The candidates “knew the rules in Virginia many months ago," the judge wrote in his ruling. "In essence, they played the game, lost, and then complained that the rules were unfair."

Radtke and her campaign team do not want to make the same mistake.

“We must collect over 15,000 signatures, with minimum amounts required from each congressional district, from registered voters in order to qualify to have my name on the ballot,” says Radtke.

“We don't want to end up like Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum who all failed to qualify to have their names on the presidential ballot here in Virginia!”

“I am very excited to tell you we have a fool-proof program that will avoid all these pitfalls and personally put us in touch with 100,000 registered, Republican, primary voters throughout Virginia,” tells supporters via email.

Radtke and her campaign team have devised a petition program called “Walk for Liberty” and say it is the key to getting Radtke’s name on the ballot.

“More importantly though, it has the potential to reach 100,000 Republican primary voters with materials explaining why they should vote for me over George Allen.”

Radkte is holding a meeting Friday evening for volunteers and anyone interested is invited to contact her campaign at radtkeforsenate.com.
