Radio K (KUOM), the University of Minnesota's student-run radio station, announced last week that it will be "venturing down 35W - all the way to Austin, TX" for the 2010 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival. Radio K's two-day coverage of the festival will be March 19 and 20, 2010.

Marketing Director Ellie Bjorklund wrote in a press release announcing the broadcast that the station is one of the only student-run college radio stations in the country covering SXSW. In addition to instudio performances from Malachai, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Dengue Fever and local favorite Peter Wolf Crier, Radio K staff and DJs will be interviewing artists (interviews announced so far include Midlake and the Ruby Suns) as well as updating the station's blog and Twitter with exclusive content.

"Radio K is thrilled to be able to bring you the all sights, sounds and exclusive content," Bjorklund wrote.

The station made headlines last year with its first-ever SXSW broadcast, which included performances from Sunset, Anni Rossi, Midnight Masses, All the Saints and Superdrag - among many others. Check out coverage of the 2009 broadcast (including photos, audio and video) here.

Radio K can be found at 770 AM, 100.7 and 104.5 FM in the Twin Cities and around the world at radiok.org.
