Radio interview with Wes Hayden of the Bachelorette lets the country singer clear his name

Wes Hayden tells KIXS radio "he's clean."

In a recent radio interview with KIXS-FM, Wes Hayden says his statements were taken out of context on the show. He appears on The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris.

(Read the full epsiode 7 recap.)

"I could have gone on there and been like Billy Graham, and they could have made me look however they wanted to make me look," Wes says in the interview. In an attempt to boost ratings, Wes believes the show featured Dave as the villian, Tanner as the weirdo, and so forth.

"I can tell you that a lot of what was said was taken out of context with voiceovers on certain subject matters. For instance, when I said 'I could taste the fame, I could feel it,' when I heard that, I almost fell on the floor and had a heart attack." Wes says the interviewer actually asked him what it was like when he was writing a song, and his response was that he can taste it, and it comes inside of him, and then comes out on pen and paper. Through clever editing, Wes says he was made out to be the villain.

"They take different sentences and they put them together," he says.

What do you think? Was Wes misportrayed through clever editing, or is there some truth to his bad boy image? And the question still remains: did Wes have a girlfriend back home when he met Jillian, or was that all in the past?

No mattr how he tries to explain it no the fact remains he is nothing but a self centered liar and user!!! He also can't sing, I would never buy one of his CDs. He thought this was going to hep him and I think it will backfire on him. In the end he will get what he deserves

Doesn't matter what context it was in, some of the stuff he said was pure outright wrong. Like "i got jillian wrapped around my little finger". Or when he was telling all the guys he's already got 6 episodes in. "Taken out of context" is always the response people make to this stuff.

Wes is a dirtbag. His body language told the truth his mouth couldn't

so true, even the short phrases that he saids about i came here for my career not for the girl, i mean, don't matter what the context there buddy! obviously ABC recorded you saying that when your on the show and that is a horrible thing to say period.

  • brooke 2 years ago

he is a serious douche bag and jillian should have let him go a long time ago! Nothing he says will change my mind and as for his girlfriend, she must be just as bad as him. His family even lied for him ,these people are low.

Wes doesn't have a "Bad Boy" image he has a "I'm as dumb as a rock" image. The guy just continues to dig himself a hole. If I was his manager I would tell him "No more interviews!".

Not only would I NEVER buy a CD from a jerk like Wes, I will be happy to tell everybody I know why they shouldn't. Country fans like real people, not fake people who try to act real. Get a real job Wes ... I would be a year's salary that you will never make in the music business, especially after all this "publicity" that you say was good for you. Way to shoot yourself and your bandmates in the feet. I hope I never hear of you or from you again. And if there is a Laurel she needs to wake the **ck up and get a guy who will be faithful to her and not one who is only interested in "numero uno."

Guys, before judging Wes so much, tell me, who do you protect in here? The show itself is not a moral thing to do. One woman is making out with whole bunch of men, says that they can trust her, kisses with Ed everywhere she goes. Is that the way to pick your love? In here, I'd judge her more than Wes. The woman is stupid, I don't see anything smart in her. And those three guys that are left, I feel sorry for them, after the last episode they look like losers.
Get life people. No one in this show is a victim, trust me. So don't make Wes so miserable, they all knew and signed for that. BE RALISTIC, GO BACK TO REALITY, DOWN TO EARTH!!!!

Thank God Jillian finally wised up. Wes defies everything that country music is about. He will never make it in the music biz because he is scum. What woman would ever want to be with that smooth talking dirt ball. yes, some commments may have been edited, but what about what he said at the rose ceremony that he would be at home having lots of s*x....! That is horrible and disrespectful. Tim McGraw would laugh in this guy's face. He will be a nobody until he gets some class and integrity. Grow a pair, Wes. And Laurel....Run!

  • Marichka 2 years ago

Chandler: exactly what that woman did with other guys, had fun with each of them, we never knew what happened with her and Ed (slipping at the hotel with the closes on all night). I don't see anything good in being with her, take my advice, be realistic.

I don' know what you guys are all bitching about. I thought he was absolutely hot and he did not have to be intersted in a girl that's making out with every guy on the show. He was there to become famous, he admitted. At least, he was not a liar! I am sure he will relize now that he's got a little to big of a mouth! As for Jillian, who ever she chooses I can guarantee its not going to work out anyways. Because you need more than two months to find a soul mate. As for Wes the hottie, he will do fine in the lady department. And as for you guys you would of have fallen for a guy like him yourselves because secretly we all love the bad boy image! Just leave the guy alone! I have met a lot more loosers than him. And I will go buy his cd because he is talented.

Sounds like your typical smooth-talkin', silver-tongued, lyin' sack of horse crap to me. Someone's trying to do some serious PR work to dig himself out of the weasel hole he dug himself into, so he can sell some of his records. Like Jillian said it's sad, because he has what it takes to be famous, but he with what he did on the show, real or edited(yeah),he lost more CD sells than he gained. If what he says is true, someone needs to be sued for defamation, because it will cost him what could have been a very lucrative future...Wes needs to be talking to a lawyer, not a radio program, if what he says is true.I don't think he'll be looking for a lawyer, just my opinion, seen quite a few fellas like ole Wes in my lifetime and seen many a good woman get heartbroke over them. From what I see he likes to play games with little girls hearts.
