“Illuminations": The Art of Linda Maldonado and Elise Ritter

Gallery Underground, the popular and critically acclaimed art gallery in Crystal City, proudly announces the upcoming March 2014 exhibit entitled “Illuminations,” featuring the art of Elise Ritter and Linda Maldonado. You are invited to the Opening Reception, Friday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will run from March 3 - 28, 2014.

Here is the basis for how the artists named this exhibit.

“The mysteries of jewel-toned colored light playing on surfaces has forever captured the imagination of artists,” according to Elise Ritter.

The artists use acrylic, watercolor, and collage to achieve imaginative expression in abstract and symbolist styles.

They describe that “they seek visual form for interior landscapes of ideas, imagination, spirit, and intuition.”

They surely have different perspectives and their outcomes are unique to each. They share their love of color and celebrate “the enlightenment that occurs when color meets light in a dance of illuminations”.
