If the only media source to which one had access was American commercial television, they would be under the very strong impression that all white men in this country are home-invading thugs, hellbent on destroying the sanctity of home and hearth.
For many years, the networks have been airing commercials which not only portray white men in a poor light, but that also fly in the face of reality.
Take for instance the current ad for ADT home security systems, in which a mother and her child enter their residence, only to find a white intruder ransacking the home...
ADT, as well as other home security providers, has run similar ads for years, and the actor playing the role of the burglar (or perhaps, of potential rapist) is always a clean shaven, white male in his 20s or 30s.
While such ads may meet the politically correct standards of the left, they are hardly accurate...
Last year, the New York City Police Department released a report which among other things, listed the race of both suspects and victims of crimes for the period of January 1 and June 30, 2012.
The report, entitled Crime and Enforcement Activity in New York City, listed the following statistics:
-Race/ethnicity of known Robbery suspects
-Race/ethnicity of known Rape suspects
-Race/ethnicity of known Murder suspects
It is important to note that the population of New York City (8,184,899) is 33.2 percent white, 22.9 percent black, and 28.7 percent Hispanic, according to the latest U.S. Census report.
While some may consider the racial makeup of such television commercials to be a rather trivial matter, but, imagine for a moment if such ads portrayed only young black men as home intruders.
Not only would the liberal brain trust go into a full-blown panic over the matter, but CNN, MSNBC and even Fox News would devote much of their airtime to complaints from NAACP officials over what would likely be described as the 'unfair and biased portrayals of the black community.'
Undoubtedly, MSNBC host and career race-baiter Al Sharpton would organize boycotts of both ADT and Brinks, and if history has taught us anything...the ads would be taken off the air.
You see, ours has become a nation where the facts no longer matter.
