Today, you can go down to your local Zero dealer and buy a cool little electric motorcycle. Zero makes an S street model described as "zippy" and an X model for the dirt for a little over ten grand.
But you can't go out and buy an electric motorcycle that will whip the living snot out of a Corvette or Ferrari. Yet.
If Amarok Racing and others like them have their way, maybe we're a little closer to the reality of a high performance MotoGP bike.
Imagine an 80 HP, 220 lb. machine about the size of a TZ250R and you'll get the picture. If the gods of speed smile upon them, you may just see the P1 at this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Stay Tuned.
