Rachel Zoe's appearance at the 2013 Golden Globes has everyone talking, but not in a good way. On Jan. 14, Mail Online reported that Rachel Zoe's makeup at the Golden Globes was a major faux-pas. Rachel paired a very dark and heavy looking smokey eye with nude lips. Heavy bronzer only intensified the makeup, which many deem very unflattering. Smokey eyes are meant to give the appearance of a sexy intense gaze, but Rachel Zoe's heavy eyeliner stare is a little scary. The nude lipstick would have been a more flattering color choice had Rachel's teeth been a brighter shade of white. The smokey eye and nude lip look is a perfect complement to sparkly dresses like the one Rachel Zoe wore, but the heavy handed foundation, bronzer, and eyeliner only served to age the stylist.
Rachel Zoe's makeup choice this time around was not a hit. Rachel's styling of major stars such as Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson & Miley Cyrus have been major fashion sensations and this success has brought her to the forefront of celebrity stylists. Toning down her look just a bit would make Rachel Zoe's makeup and entire look shine as bright as the stars she styles. Let's hope the next major appearance is more focused on the great styling and overall look and not the extreme makeup route Rachel Zoe went for this time.
