Rachel Uchitel says The View apology was insufficient; may still sue
TMZ is reporting that Tiger Woods Mistress Prototype 1.0 Rachel Uchitel isn't satisfied with the written apology issued by The View on Friday after co-host Joy Behar joked that Uchitel was a hooker. Rachel Uchitel's lawyer Gloria Allred has stated that if ABC, The View and Joy Behar really are sorry about the crack, there will be a televised apology when the show returns on Monday morning.
The View aired a pre-taped tribute to All My Children called All My Children: Moving Pine Valley on Friday, and ABC issued a written apology that morning, apparently hoping the story would go away over the weekend. But TMZ's report of Rachel Uchitel's demand for a televised apology came Friday night and seems to be lingering in celebrity news headlines over the weekend. Rachel Uchitel has stated that she is considering suing ABC and The View over the crack.
Joy Behar was the one who made the joke, pronouncing the party planner and rumored soon-to-be Playboy model's named "Uchitel" as "You-ka-tell," and then adding: "Yeah--you-ka-tell she's a hooker." But Behar's The View co-hosts certainly didn't rush to Rachel Uchitel's aid.
Sherri Shepherd inexplicably claiminng: "Rachel, you walked right into that one girl!" while Elisabeth Hasselbeck snickered along. The View shrews have been beating sucking on the popularity of the Tiger Woods scandal teat for a full two weeks now during their Hot Topics segments. Now, The View has become a part of the scandal itself.
The View returns live Monday morning December 14 on ABC.
