Directed by Oscar nominee Wim Wenders (Pina), Every Thing Will Be Fine stars James Franco (Oz the Great and Powerful) as Tomas, a man who is consumed with guilt over his role in the accidental death of a young boy. As time passes and his writing career skyrockets, Tomas begins to repress the memory of the accident and loses his connection with the boy's family.
McAdams has signed on to play Tomas's girlfriend who must deal with his crumbling mental state. Sarah Polley was originally slated for the role, but a deal was never reached. Rounding out the cast are Charlotte Gainsbourg (Melancholia) and Robert Naylor (Immortals) as the young boy's mother and brother.
McAdams, who recently starred in Brian De Palma's Passion and the dramatic comedy About Time, is currently filming the animated feature The Little Prince. She will next be seen in the thriller A Most Wanted Man with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright.
Every Thing Will Be Fine is currently in production in Montreal. Wenders is directing from a script by Bjorn Olaf Johannessen (Nowhere Man).
