Jockey Calvin Borel rode Rachel Alexandra to victory in the $750,000 race on September 5th, blasting past the all-male horses in the 2009 Woodward field.
Owners Jess Jackson and Harold McCormick, of Stone Street Farms (of Lexington, Kentucky) beamed from the stands, as Rachel Alexandra flew by 2008 Belmont Stakes champion Da ‘Tara and others in the front of the pack. At the finish line, Rachel Alexandra beat Macho Again by a head, completing the 1 1/8 – mile race in just 1:48:29. Macho Again took second in the 2009 Woodward Stakes, followed by Bulls Bay.

Yay!!
Awesome.
Thanks for the report!
Good for her!
Great job but putting in things in perspective, her accomplishments is not as strong if she had accomplished this years ago. Today there are no older horses to speak off because most great male horses go to stud early and horses like Mine that Bird wouldn't even be in the Kentucky Derby.
