MMA beauty Racheal Blaze said on Jan. 20 in an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner Eric Holden that she plans to participate in an upcoming eBay charity auction for breast cancer research.
Blaze, a 38-year-old former ring girl who currently serves as an ambassador of the sport of mixed martial arts, recently donated her sports bra for an eBay charity auction spearheaded by women's pro soccer star McCall Zerboni, and it was so successful that she decided to do it again this year.
Blaze's autographed sports bra sold on eBay for $117.50, and the money went directly to Keep-A-Breast and the Breast Cancer Survivor's Network.
When asked what she plans to donate for the auction slated for October, Blaze admits she hasn't decided yet.
"I will let you know soon," Blaze said. "Some good things I can say."
The auctions were designed to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer through the empowerment of women. A total of $5,346 was collected for the 63 items Bayer received from women's MMA stars.
Among the many female MMA stars who contributed besides Blaze were Emily Kagan, Julie Kedzie, Cassie Crisano, Hitomi Akano, Ayaka Hamasaki, Sara McMann, Ronda Rousey, Katalina Malungahu, Liz Carmouche, Bec Hyatt, Amanda Bell, Cassie Robb, Michelle Waterson, Laura Sanko, Arianny Celeste, Felice Herrig, Sarah Goodlaxson and Tecia Torres.
Rousey's bra was the top seller, and Celeste's item followed close behind.
Rousey's bra raked into $810, while Celeste brought in $449. Herrig's cute pink sports bra sold for $405, and Hyatt's top drew a high bid of $355.
"The next one for WMMA will be in the October area," Bayer said. "We will coordinate it with Invicta's event in that time period. Janet Martin and Invicta were essential in putting this together with us. Between now and then, we will have other auctions. We have a Women of Comedy auction that we're working on. We also have some special items; a bra signed by the 2012 US Women's Olympic team (gold medal winners) and one signed by four of the gold medal gymnasts."
Female MMA stars who are interested in donating items can reach Bayer via e-mail at diract22@gmail.com.
Blaze also announced via Twitter that she is planning a tour for 2013.
"I think BLUE SUITS ME....@rachealblaze," Blaze tweeted. "Lets go....Who is READY for the Official Racheal Blaze Tour 2013 HV som suprises."
