It’s time to put on those running shoes and race for a great cause! On July 13, 2013, Waterfall Glen Xtreme 10 will have its 10th annual 10-mile race to help raise money for Community Nurse Health Center. Community Nurse is a health facility in Chicago’s western suburbs (LaGrange) with a mission to provide health care for every person in the community. They are able to keep their doors open with generous donations, volunteers and other forms of support. Support Community Nurse and register for this year’s race!
Waterfall Glen Xtreme 10 brings up to 1000 runners every year from the Chicagoland area. This 10-mile race is set at the beautiful Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in La Grange, IL. Xtreme 10 is a USATF certified course and is a 2013 Chicago Area Runners Association Certified Race. This year, Community Nurse welcomes Race Director, David (Dave) Myatt. Dave is a running coach and community partner in the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA).
Dave joins the Community Nurse team through the partnership with CARA, and will make the 10th year’s race extra special. He plans on introducing new elements to make this race more exciting than it already is! Along with his coaching expertise, Dave also brings a wealth of sponsorship, fundraising and operations experience to this event.
For the 10th year anniversary, this year’s participants will receive special edition anniversary race shirts, free photography by NuVision, and an extravagant post-race party with food, drinks, entertainment and more!
If you are not ready to run the full 10 miles, Xtreme 10 now offers a 2-mile walk/run for those who need a kick-start to a general wellness and fitness program. This new 2-mile walk/run is a great way to get community members of all fitness levels to participate in such a beneficial event.
For more information about the event and to register, visit www.xtreme10race.com or call Community Nurse at 708-352-0081. Have fun running or walking while making a difference in the Chicagoland area!
