The facts are these:
Delbert Belton, a long-time resident of Spokane, Washington and a surviving hero of the Second World War, was savagely beaten to death this past Wednesday evening outside of the Spokane Eagles Lodge where, even at the age of 88, he enjoyed playing billiards with his friends.
A pair of teenagers, who happen to be black, are the primary suspects and by all appearances are likely the culprits of the horrific murder.
Beyond that, the motive remains unclear and as of the publishing of this column one suspect has been arrested while the other is expected to be taken into custody by police soon.
Unlike other instances of recent high-profile interracial violence, wherein the progressive media couldn’t regurgitate the story often enough; couldn’t pronounce the “racist” judgment quickly enough upon the “white perpetrator” because the “victim” happened to be black, the mention or even the remotest implication of a racial component to this ghastly crime is curiously absent.
In fact of the major (mainstream) networks, beyond posting stills from the video captured of the suspects prior to the killing, none have made a reference to the victim being white and the alleged murderers being black.
And though many fellow conservatives find this to be very disturbing, the fact is, that is how it should be. The problem is not in the media’s reticence over race in this story, but in the manner in which it recklessly introduces it when the racial tables are turned.
Hypocrisy is not nearly a strong enough term to describe the way TV news handles these matters respectively. But, fomented by the usual suspect race-baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama – the latter of which has NO business sticking his “presidential” nose into these matters beyond his desire to exacerbate the “white man is the devil” meme – the complicit media seemingly can’t help itself when concluding what is and is not a “hate crime.”
Take Jesse Jackson (some would say “please”); when it comes to railing against injustice, his Rainbow PUSH Coalition (RPC) certainly seems self-contradictory. The organization’s website claims, amongst other things to be a, “…multi-racial organization,” whose “…mission is to protect, defend, and gain civil rights… and to promote peace and justice around the world.”
If Trayvon Martin’s civil rights were violated, as these men, and apparently Obama’s top dog in the U.S. Department of Justice Eric Holder, contend, then were not the civil rights of American patriot and war hero Delbert Belton violated JUST as egregiously?
If not, why not? And why, if the RPC is indeed as multi-racial as it claims, is it completely mum on this killing?
In a word, it’s hypocrisy. Evil is not confined to any specific race. But the liberal progressive wants us to believe that only acts of violence and mayhem committed by whites are malevolent. And this is what gets into the craw of straight-thinking, rational citizens of all colors.
Epilog: It is interesting how NBC’s website paid practically no attention to the murder of Delbert Benton, yet they have plastered a story of a transgender being beating to death and labeled it a “hate crime” even before the investigation has run its course.
