R-CATS marches into spring with events

Spring 2014 is not even 24 hours old, and R-CATS is already getting into the swing to prepare for a new year trap/neuter/vaccinate/return for feral felines, and the fostering and adoption process for adoptable cats and kittens.

What do cats have to do with tacos? Find out on March 26.
Erin Jackson,

Now entering its fourth year of providing trap/neuter/vaccinate/return (TNVR) services to the homeless cats in the City of Rome, interested parties are invited to join members of the group for the first R-CATS volunteer meeting of 2014 on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:30 pm in the Common Council Chambers at Rome City Hall.

R-CATS founding member Allison Nickerson said, "As we look to build on the successes of the past three years in helping even more homeless cats in 2014, your interest and support are both welcome and needed. There are lots of ways to help out and there's something for everyone to do to support our mission of the humane approach to managing the homeless cat population in our city."

Volunteers can assist with TNVR, fundraising and events, helping at the cats' communal home and fostering, among other helpful activities.

The following evening, Wednesday, March 26, Taco Del Mar at 827 Black River Boulevard North in Rome will host a fundraiser for the cat welfare group from 4-9 pm. Diners can enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared meal and the animal-loving, community-minded folks at Taco Del Mar will donate 25% of each order to the R-CATS program to support their mission.
