Last year, America experienced the Great Twinkie Panic. People practically lost their minds over the fact that Hostess would cease producing the everlasting, nuclear holocaust-surviving confection. In 2013, R-CATS has a solution that can fill the void of a Twinkie-less existence, and that solution is a sweet cat called Twinkie.
Twinkie is an affectionate neutered male and is estimated to be 2-3 years old. Robin Yager of R-CATS says of him, "He comes right over to the caregivers and gives headbutts with loud purrs to show his approval. This is how he greeted the colony caregiver when initially found outside. We ran an ad for a found cat for several weeks but no one ever claimed him. He's very playful with the other cats or can entertain himself if need be. He likes to watch birds and squirrels out the window or can be in the middle of raising a ruckus - I guess we could call him Mr. Easy-Going. He is listed as a special needs cat, as he has to have some dental work done, but I happen to know that he has a 'Tooth Fairy Godmother' who will help with the cost. He's on the stocky side, up to date on his vaccinations and micro-chipped."
This is the perfect time to adopt Twinkie, as February is National Pet Dental Health Month, and veterinary hospitals have extra dental products in stock and some, such as CNY Veterinary Medical Services, are offering specials on dental cleanings next month.
R-CATS adoptions require an application including a veterinary reference and two non-related personal references. A letter from a landlord is required if the person rents and a home visit is done either before the actual adoption or very shortly after. A $50 donation is requested at the time of the adoption.
